I represent all the major carriers and specialize in health insurance designed for seniors and the dually eligible in the great state of Arizona.
MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLANS
Medicare Advantage Plans are also called Part C of Medicare. They are usually a HMO or PPO and can include prescription drug benefits. One plan and one card. There are pros and cons to Medicare Advantage Plans. I can help you analyze your choices, find plans that have the doctors you currently use and have a prescription drug formulary that works with your medication needs.
Medicare Supplement Plans are also called Medigap Plans. These plans work with Original Medicare and cover some or most of the out of pocket costs that Original Medicare does not pay. You do not need referrals and can see any doctor who accepts Medicare patients. Prescription Drug Plans must be purchased separately. There are pros and cons to choosing a Medicare Supplement Plan and I help you evaluate your choices. I can also help you find an appropriate Prescription Drug Plan (PDP).
DUAL SPECIAL NEEDS PLANS
Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs) are Medicare Advantage Plans that coordinate benefits between Medicare and Medicaid (AHCCCS/ALTCS). To qualify for a Dual Special Needs Plan you must qualify for Medicare and Medicaid. These plans provide enhanced benefits which may include dental, hearing, vision transportation, gym membership and over the counter benefits.
For 15 years I have served on several work groups and committees for a variety of organizations including Division of Developmental Disabilities, Department of Economic Security, AHCCCS, and Phoenix Children’s Hospital. I am currently the Vice President of Autism Society of Greater Phoenix, a board member of Moriah Cooperative and serve on the Governor’s Advisory Committee for Autism Spectrum Disorder. I am extremely knowledgeable about AHCCCS and ALTCS (Medicaid) and Medicare and how they can work together to give enhanced benefits and coordinated care to improve outcomes.
There are gaps in coverage whether you select Original Medicare with a Medicare Supplement or a Medicare Advantage Plan and there are ancillary products to fill those gaps. I review coverage and look for the appropriate solutions for those gaps.
