Many people have contacted me about issues with AHCCCS redetermination. I am hearing about two issues:
- Parents who are “paid parent providers” for their children or adult children are being cancelled due to “Difficulty of Care” income. “Difficulty of Care” income does not count as income for AHCCCS and unfortunately some of the AHCCCS customer service professionals do not seem to understand the policy. If you are denied, please make sure to appeal the denial. Please also contact me via my email at [email protected]. I am tracking this issue and sharing this information with public policy attorneys.
- Some people are having issues with redetermination. AHCCCS is misstating income and employers. One family told me AHCCCS stated that their income was 13K a month. Their actual income was 1300 a month. If you are being denied, please make sure to appeal the denial. Please also contact me via my email at [email protected]
My hope is to give some great examples of these issues to attorneys and to leadership within AHCCCS so that we can determine where the issues are and they can be fixed.
